Collect local and network files
You can add local files to a collection, including files from your personal computer, shared drives, and network drives available to your system.
Perform the following procedure to collect local information.
- In the Main Menu, select .
- Click the button.
- In the pane, provide the following information.
- In , type a name for this collection.
- In , select where the files exist or add a new source.
- For example, you can select to collect your files, to collect files in a shared drive, or for a drive in your network.
- To add a source, click + next to . In the dialog box, type a name for the source and click .
- In , select a name from the list or add a new custodian.
- To add a new custodian, click + next to . In the dialog box, type the and for the user and click .
- Click to identify the files you want to collect.
- Drag files from your desktop to the collection box.
- Click the collection box. In the dialog box, navigate to the files you want to collect, select the files, and click .
- Optional: Select to automate subsequent tasks that run as separate jobs after collection. You can stop the automation anywhere in the sequence by not choosing to select the next option.
- To process the files, select .
- To promote or export the files, select and select an existing filter template.
- To image the promoted files, select and choose an existing image template.
- To create production for the promoted files, select , and choose an existing production template.
- Specify how to stamp the data (Bates Number, Document Number, or File Name).
- Define the sort method for the data (, ,, , or . You can select up to three levels of sorting and specify whether to keep families together.
- Click .
